Conspiracy Theory

For this project, we were asked to create a piece inspired by a conspiracy theory or widely held belief that we found interesting. While living in Tampa, I frequently heard local stories claiming that the ancient Native American mounds provided supernatural protection against hurricanes. Many residents believed these mounds shielded the surrounding area from the worst impacts of major storms. Having experienced several hurricane seasons without seeing Tampa take the full force of a severe hurricane, I found the belief compelling and used it as the inspiration for this project.
